In August 2001 I drove alone from the San Francisco Bay Area to western Texas, following the U.S. - Mexican border. Inspired by the barren landscapes and the stories of the illegal aliens who attempt to cross the border, I wrote a short narrative film called Borders.

The following summer I returned to the Southwest to shoot and direct this DV film. A hypnotic journey through the iconic and stunningly beautiful American landscape, Borders is a cinematic reflection on time, space, destiny, and the boundaries of freedom. Post production was completed in June 2006.
